apPROach Consulting, LLC
Jess Southwell has two decades of experience in project management and professional business development. When she set out to refresh her consultancy website, it turned out to be a hard job to describe how planning and task management works for businesses as well as individuals. Jess’s holistic process seamlessly does apply to both professional and personal development, but her web copy had to help readers bridge the gap. She needs businesses to see her as credible and individuals to see her as accessible. Workshopping her homepage content helped her to find the phrasing that would appeal to both groups. And we had a good time along the way!
Step Up Chiropractic
Three years would pass between the first time Dr. David Raczka ("Dr. Dave") mentioned to me that he might need my services to write his new website, and when we actually worked on it! The reason? Dr. Dave is a skilled, meticulous creator in his own right. Not to mention that his niche of chiropractic care is a rather technical topic. These factors turned Dr. Dave's website content into an ideal Workshopping project. Over three sessions, Dr. Dave and I collaborated on simplifying his message and polishing the content to be both informative of his services and attractive to his ideal prospect. Our sessions together also served to keep Dr. Dave on track to reach his website publication target date.
Wendy Carter Development Consulting
Wendy Carter knew she could evolve her career working for nonprofit development corporations into a consultancy that would positively impact community building for vulnerable populations all around the country. Her strategic leadership and project management expertise in this complicated niche meant that she needed to take the lead on creating the content for her website. Our Workshopping sessions helped Wendy to organize her ideas for website navigation and develop concise phrasing that would appeal to her niche audience and client prospects. The resulting website is a showcase for possibilities when a community is ready to take on the work of transforming neighborhoods. Wendy Carter Development Consulting LLC provides real estate development, strategic planning, and capacity-building services to nonprofit organizations.
Life Made Simple Organizing
Professional organizer Tricia TenEyck was updating her pricing schedule and refreshing her business messaging, but was unclear how to communicate it all to clients and prospects. She used her Workshopping session to revise and complete her new-lead email template and to update her elevator pitch. She even elected to use some of the copy to update her website. So in-depth was our conversation about her business model that Tricia stumbled upon a few "helpful truths," leading her to create a new package to better reach her target market. At the close of our session, Tricia felt confident in her messaging and energized with new ideas.
Jess Kamens Photography
Photographer Jess Kamens was working with a web designer to refresh her website and had written all the content herself. But she was stuck. She found that it can be tough to capture your own authentic voice. And how could she encapsulate the high-end experience of working with her? Over two sessions, Jess and I sat side-by-side workshopping her copy; I asked questions on the spot to draw out what she really needed to say, and we worked together to phrase it just right for her voice and her audience. (Jess does a fantastic job writing her own blog posts!)
